Our Story

For the love of dogs

Canine Kinetics began with a simple belief — that every dog deserves to move through life with comfort, confidence, and joy, no matter their age or diagnosis. We bring veterinary-grade fitness training and rehabilitation therapy directly to your door, meeting your dog where they feel safest: at home. Whether your companion is a young athlete in training, recovering from surgery, or simply slowing down with age, our mission never changes — to help them live a longer, more active, pain-free life.

Dr. Jennifer Wade, DVM

Licensed Veterinarian · Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist

Dr. Jennifer Wade is a licensed veterinarian in Washington and Oregon and a certified canine rehabilitation therapist. After earning her veterinary degree at Washington State University, she completed advanced training with the Canine Rehabilitation Institute to specialize in helping dogs move better, hurt less, and stay active for life. She also completed an equine surgical internship in Oklahoma and spent many years in Walla Walla in urgent care, general practice, and mixed practice (dogs, cats, birds, horses, and other animals).

Dr. Wade is passionate about treating all conditions, but a few are especially close to her heart:

  • Neurologic dogs: Rehab can make a real difference, even when a neurologist or spinal surgery aren't options.

  • Dogs with multiple issues: Working in the home lets Dr. Wade take the time to assess the whole patient and build a lifestyle plan that restores mobility and quality of life. She loves it when a dog regains the ability to do something it used to love — chasing a ball, walking to the coffee shop, following mom up the stairs.

  • Post-surgical recovery: The early days after an operation can be confusing and frightening for both dogs and owners. Dr. Wade loves to be there to catch problems early, rebuild strength safely, and lower the risk of a future injury elsewhere. Dogs recovering from TPLO surgeries, for example, are at a 50%+ risk of injuring their other ACL/CCL.

Whatever the case, Dr. Wade's goal is the same: to improve each dog's independence and confidence so they can lead a pain-free, active life. She meets every dog where they are — no muzzles, no forced restraint, and plenty of treats — in the comfort of their own home.

Beyond the clinic

When she's not with patients, Jennifer is usually with her family, including her nieces and nephew, and with her dogs, Hank and Rocky. Hank is a 16½-year-old fox terrier–whippet mix and Rocky is a 6-year-old Decker rat terrier. Both are pictured throughout.
